Mercyhurst Players Help Guide Canada to Gold Medal Game at 2009 MLP Cup

Thanks to the help of three Mercyhurst College women¹s hockey players, the 2008-09 Canadian Women¹s Under-22 Team will have a shot at capturing its seventh consecutive gold medal at the 2009 MLP Cup Tuesday night against Team Sweden in Ravensburg, Germany.

Mercyhurst junior forward Meghan Agosta was tabbed College Hockey America (CHA) Offensive Player of the Week, while Laker freshman Hillary Pattenden was named CHA Defensive Player of the Week.  Wayne State forward Micheline Frappier was selected Rookie of the Week.  This POTW selection in 2009 included games from Dec. 12 through Jan. 4.

No. 2 Minnesota Rallies Past Niagara 5-3

The Niagara women's hockey team (4-14-2; 1-3-0 CHA) held the lead at two different times, but were unable to hold it as the No. 2 Minnesota Golden Gophers (17-2-1; 12-1-1 WCHA) came from behind to win 5-3 at Dwyer Arena on Sunday afternoon.
