Moon Township, Pa. - Robert Morris University women's ice hockey head coach Nate Handrahan has announced RMU's captains for the 2010-11 season. Senior defenseman Whitney Pappas (Evergreen, Colo. / Belle Tire) will serve as RMU's captain for the second consecutive season while senior forward Sara O'Malley (Guelph, Ontario / Hamilton Hawks) and junior defenseman Kathryn Stack (Edmonton, Alberta / Edmonton Thunder) will be assistant captains.

Moon Township, Pa. - Director of Athletics Craig Coleman, M.D., announced Wednesday that Robert Morris University has extended the contract of head women's ice hockey coach Nate Handrahan. Handrahan received a three-year contract extension and will now coach the Colonials through the 2013-14 season.

The Colonials ended the season with an 11-24-1 record, which included its first post-season tournament win with a 3-1 victory over Wayne State.

The No. 5 Robert Morris University Colonials captured their first CHA Tournament win on Thursday afternoon at the City Sports Center with a 3-1 victory over No. 4 Wayne State in the quarterfinals. The Colonials and the Warriors played two scoreless second and third periods, but three goals racked up by RMU in the first period propelled them to the triumph.
