TORONTO, Ont. – The Syracuse University women's ice hockey team is gaining national prominence in the offseason. The 2010 CHA Rookie of the Year, Isabel Menard, earned a spot on the 2010 Canadian National Women’s Under-22 team. Throughout the past week, she participated in the selection camp in Toronto, Ontario and has been selected for one of 22 spots on the roster.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Three Syracuse University student-athletes were named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District women's at-large team as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSida) on Thursday, May 20. Senior lacrosse player Christina Dove was named to the first team and will now go on the national ballot of Academic All-America. Junior field hockey star Lindsey Conrad and junior hockey standout Stefanie Marty both earned second-team accolades.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse ice hockey team wrapped up its second season by handing out four team awards at its end of the year banquet on Sunday evening. All awards were voted on by the team. In just its second season, head coach Paul Flanagan led the Orange to an 18-17-1 record, while making its debut in the national rankings and securing its first postseason win in program history.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse University ice hockey team continued to write its name in the record books this season as it built on its inaugural campaign. In just its second year, the Orange achieved national prominence as it was voted No. 10 in both the USCHO.com and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine polls for the first time in program history. Under the direction of College Hockey America (CHA) Coach of the Year, Paul Flanagan, the Orange finished with a seven-game improvement over its inaugural season, nearly doubling its win total. After earning a .500 winning-percentage (8-8-0) in the league, SU proved to be a rising threat in the CHA by winning its first playoff game in team history against second-seeded Niagara.

The Syracuse University ice hockey team won its first playoff game in program history when it defeated Niagara, 5-3, in the College Hockey America (CHA) semifinals on Friday evening at City Sports Center. The Orange was led by sophomore Lisa Mullan, who scored two goals and helped break open a tie game to defeat the Purple Eagles.

ERIE, Pa. – Senior goaltender Lucy Schoedel recorded a season-high 45 saves, while junior forward Stefanie Marty scored her first goal since returning from the 2010 Winter Games, but it was not enough as the Syracuse University ice hockey team (17-16-1, 8-8-0 CHA) was defeated by No. 1 Mercyhurst (27-2-3, 14-1-1 CHA), 3-1, on Saturday afternoon in its regular season finale. After being swept by the Lakers, the Orange finishes third in the College Hockey America (CHA) standings in just its second year of existence.
