College Hockey America Names Monthly Award Winners for January

College Hockey America Player of the Month

 

Meghan Agosta - Mercyhurst

Senior, Forward, Ruthven, Ontario

Agosta led all scorers in the month of January with 27 points while helping the Lakers to a 9-2-0 record. She scored nine goals and dished out 27 assists to average 2.45 points per game. She recorded a point in every game but one and scored multiple points in eight contests, including a five-point outing against St. Cloud State and a four-point effort against Syracuse. The nation’s leading scorer, she has 27 goals and 38 assists for 65 points.

College Hockey America Goaltender of the Month

 

Hillary Pattenden - Mercyhurst

Junior, Goaltender, Surrey, British Columbia

Pattenden recorded eight of the Lakers’ nine wins in the month of January. Through 10 appearances,

she accumulated an 8-2-0 record to go along with a 1.73 goals against average and a .920 save percent- age. She marked four shutouts, all of which came in back-to-back games, and posted 195 saves during the month. Of her losses, both of them came to the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the country.

College Hockey America Rookie of the Month

 

Christine Bestland - Mercyhurst

Freshman, Forward, Brunkild, Manitoba

Bestland helped the Lakers to a 9-2-0 record by scoring a team-high 10 goals and totaling 19 points through the month of January. Of her 10 goals, six of them came on the power play, while two others proved to be game-winners. She scored multiple goals on three occasions, and totaled multiple points in six contests. She finished the month second in scoring and ranks fourth on the team for the season.
