CHA Announces Player of the Week Recipients
Merychurst’s Vicki Bendus named CHA Offensive Player of the Week;
Warrior Delayne Brian selected Defensive Player of the Week;
Wayne State’s Julie Ingratta named Rookie of the Week


CHA Player of the Week Release

DETROIT -- Merychurst junior forward Vicki Bendus was named College Hockey America (CHA) Offensive Player of the Week after recording seven points against Clarkson. WSU sophomore goalie Delayne Brian was selected Defensive Player of the Week, while Warrior forward Julie Ingratta was tabbed as Rookie of the Week.

Offensive Player of the Week


Vicki Bendus - Junior - Forward - Wasaga Beach, Ontario/Aurora Panthers - Mercyhurst


Bendus recorded seven points as the Lakers went 1-0-1 against No. 4 Clarkson. With Friday’s game tied at one, Bendus was part of the next four MC lamp-lighters with a goal and three assists, including a helper on the game-winner. The next afternoon, she contributed two goals, including the game-tying marker, and an assist. Bendus finished the weekend set with 12 shots on goal.

Defensive Player of the Week


Delayne Brian - Sophomore - Goalie - Winnipeg, Manitoba/Notre Dame Hounds - Wayne State


Brian earned the win in both contests against Robert Morris. She made 24 saves in recording her third shutout of the season in a 1-0 triumph. In Saturday’s come-from-behind victory, Brian turned aside 27 Colonial shots while allowing just two power-play markers. Brian had a .962 save percentage and a 1.00 goals-against average for the weekend.

Rookie of the Week


Julie Ingratta - Freshman - Forward - Markham, Ontario/North American Hockey Academy - Wayne State


Ingratta’s goal in Saturday’s game vs. Robert Morris knotted the score at two, as the Warriors rallied from a 2-0 deficit for a 3-2 conference win. She had 10 shots on goal in the weekend series and a plus/minus rating of +1.
