BLAINE, Minn. - Senior forward Kelley
Steadman of the Mercyhurst women's hockey team is among 41 of
the nation's top female hockey players currently participating in
the 2011 USA Hockey Women's Winter Training Camp in Blaine,
Minnesota.
The six-day camp is taking place at the National Sports Center's
Schwan Super Rink and will serve as an evaluation camp and training
session for the U.S. Women's National Team.
The players are split into two teams, blue and white, with games
beginning on Wednesday, December 28. Steadman, a member of the
white roster, is teammates with three-time Olympian Julie Chu, as
well as former Olympians Brianne McLaughlin, Molly Schaus, Kacey
Bellamy, Lisa Chesson, Gigi Marvin, Meghan Duggan, Hilary Knight,
and Monique Lamoureux-Kolls.
The camp, which runs through December 31, began with a couple
of practice sessions on Tuesday, December 27.
A native of Plattsburgh, New York, Steadman is fourth on the
Lakers' roster in scoring with 26 points in 18 games. Her 16 goals
is second on the team, trailing only senior Bailey Bram's 21

loss to Boston College on December 9.
The fifth-ranked Lakers (14-4-0, 0-0-0 CHA) will return
to action on January 6 and 7 with their first conference games
of the season at Syracuse. Faceoffs are scheduled for 7:00 p.m. and
2:00 p.m. respectively from Syracuse, N.Y.
