Jenna Hendrikx - Niagara Junior, Forward, Winchester, ONT Hendrikx scored a goal, two assists and three points in two games against the New Hampshire Wildcats this past weekend. On the weekend, Hendrikx averaged .50 goals per game, 1.00 assists per game and 1.50 points per game this past weekend. Hendrikx is now tied for 26th in the nation in points per game with 1.50, tied for 23rd in assists per game (1.00). |

Hillary Pattenden, Mercyhurst Senior, Goaltender, Surrey, B.C. In the two games against ninth-ranked Quinnipiac, senior Hillary Pattenden allowed just one goal to the Bobcats, while turning aside 51 shots. She picked up her 13th career shutout and her 81st career victory in Friday’s 4-0 victory, stopping all 20 shots. In Saturday’s 1-0 loss, Pattenden stopped 31-of-32. She finished the weekend with a .981 save percentage and a 0.50 goals against average. |

Delaney Middlebrook - Niagara Freshman, Defenseman, Minneapolis, Minn. Middlebrook scored her first collegiate goal during Niagara’s 6-4 loss to UNH on Friday. Middlebrook played in two games this weekend, with one goal. She finished the weekend with a +3 ranking.Middlebrook is tied for 20th nationally in points per game amongst defensemen and tied for 15th in points per game amongst rookies. |

Caroline Laczak, Mercyhurst (Freshman, Defenseman, Midhurst, ONT ) - Luczak was the only freshman for the Lakers to register a point in the opening weekend of the season. She picked up her first collegiate point, an assist, on Kelley Steadman’s power play goal late in the first period of Friday’s 4-0 victory. Kelley Steadman, Mercyhurst (Senior, Forward, Plattsburgh, N.Y.) – In the opening game of the season against ninth-ranked Quinnipiac, Steadman tallied a power play goal late in the first period that put Mercyhurst ahead at the time 2-0. She then added an assist on the Lakers’ third goal of the game, midway through the second period. For the weekend, she had a goal and an assist in the split with ninth-ranked Quinnipiac. She was a +1 for the weekend, had seven shots on goal, and won 18 faceoffs. Jenesica Drinkwater, Syracuse (Sophomore, Goaltender, Brantford, Ontario) – Drinkwater made 32 saves in Syracuse’s opening night victory against St. Cloud State on Friday night. She also made 10 straight saves in the third period to stave off the Huskies and secure the win. Drinkwater, who did not play the final five games of the season, was four saves away from matching her career high of 36 saves. Through the first weekend of play, she is tied for eighth in the nation with a 1.00 goals against average and is seventh in the country with a .970 save percentage. Lisa Mullan, Syracuse (Senior, Forward, ) - Mullan, who was named to the East/West Showcase All-Tournament Team, scored the game-winning goal against St. Cloud State in the season opener on Friday. Mullan, positioned at the doorstep, gloved down an airborne puck from an initial shot before tucking it past the SCSU goaltender. The goal was Mullan’s four career game-winner, which is tied for third on the SU all-time list. Allie LaCombe, Syracuse (Freshman, Forward, ) - LaCombe, who was named to the All-Tournament Team, played in both games at the East/West Showcase last weekend in her first collegiate action. LaCombe received the primary assist on SU’s first goal of the season against St. Cloud State on Friday. During the weekend, LaCombe was 18-of-33 on faceoffs, including a 9-of-13 night against SCSU. |

Mercyhurst: Mercyhurst, who began the season ranked eighth in the first USCHO.com poll of the season, split a pair of games at home against ninth-ranked Quinnipiac. The Lakers posted a 4-0 shutout win on Friday night, getting goals from four different players. Senior Bailey Bram scored the game-winner on an unassisted shorthanded goal midway through the first period. It was Bram’s 61st goal of her career. On Saturday, Bram played in her 100th career game. The Lakers also received goals from senior Kelley Steadman, junior Lauren Jones, and sophomore Christine Bestland. Senior netminder Hillary Pattenden registered her 13th career shutout and her 81st career victory on Friday. Quinnipiac returned the favor on Saturday, knocking off the Lakers 1-0 to earn the split. It was the first time in 12 career meetings that Quinnipiac got the better of Mercyhurst. Pattenden turned aside 31-of-32 shots in Saturday’s loss and stopped 51-of-52 (.981) over the weekend. Steadman and Bestland were the only multi-point scorers, each registering a goal and an assist in the two games. Mercyhurst killed off all nine Quinnipiac power play opportunities. Mercyhurst will travel to Minnesota State-Mankato next weekend. Niagara: Niagara is now 0-2-0 on the season…The Purple Eagles hit the road to take on Boston University on Friday at 7 p.m. and at 3 p.m. on Saturday…Jenna Hendrikx is tied for 26th in the nation in points per game (1.50) and tied for 23rd in the nation in assists (1.00)…Delaney Middlebrook is tied for 20th nationally in points per game amongst defensemen and tied for 15th in points per game amongst rookies (0.50)…Head coach Josh Sciba coached his first two regular-season games this weekend in a 6-4 loss to New Hampshire on Friday night and a 3-2 loss on Saturday afternoon…Niagara is tied for theseventh-best offense in the nation, scoring six goals in two games…In two games, Niagara is five-for-six on the penalty kill, only allowing one power play goal, for an 83.3 percentage….Niagara is tied for 12th nationally in the penalty kill category…Niagara is outscoring teams 4-0 in the third period. Robert Morris: Nine different Colonials recorded points to help the Robert Morris women’s hockey team complete its preseason schedule with a perfect 3-0 mark as RMU knocked off visiting Windsor in a Saturday afternoon exhibition. Although Robert Morris once again won by a comfortable margin, the Colonials experienced something new as they trailed for the first time during any of their exhibition matchups when the Lancers got on the board first. However, the Colonials soon equaled and surpassed Windsor, scoring four unanswered tallies to finish the game … The Colonials tallied multiple power-play goals in all their preseason games as they went 2-for-7 Saturday while holding Windsor to an 0-for-6 mark. RMU held its opposition scoreless on 15 power-play chances during its preseason slate … Brianna Delaney, Katie Fergus, Thea Imbrogno and Rebecca Vint all tied for the team lead for points during the exhibition contests with five each while Kylie St. Louis contributed four … With its preseason schedule now complete, Robert Morris will look to carry over its momentum when the real games begin this weekend. RMU opens its regular season with four straight at home, the first two of which are Friday, Oct. 7, and Saturday, Oct. 8, against Lindenwood. The two meetings mark the first in program history for Robert Morris against the Lions. Syracuse: Syracuse was 1-1-0 last weekend at the East/West Showcase, defeating St. Cloud State on Friday before being shutout by No. 4 Minnesota on Saturday … In Friday’s game against the Huskies, Jenesica Drinkwater made 32 saves, including 10 in the third period, to preserve the win … Drinkwater is tied for eighth in the country with a 1.00 goals against average and is seventh in the nation with a .970 save percentage … Lisa Mullan scored her fourth career game-winning goal against SCSU, which is tied for third on the SU all-time list … Against Minnesota on Saturday, sophomore goaltender Kaillie Billadeau faced 50 shots, the most of any SU goaltender since she face 61 shots against Cornell last season … All of the Orange’s seven freshmen (Jordyn Burns, Shiann Darkangelo, Nicole Ferrara, Kaillie Goodnough, Casey Hirsch, Julie Knerr and Allie LaCombe) played in both games over the weekend … Syracuse heads back out on the road this weekend for games at Northeastern and New Hampshire. |
