College Hockey America is back in full swing, with four conference games, three non-conference games and a Tuesday night non conference game in New York. Syracuse will play three top ten teams, first they have a two game set at #7 Mercyhurst and then travel to take on #4 Cornell. Robert Morris will host Lindenwood twice and Penn State hits the road for two game series at Union. RIT is hosting Colgate in a single game on Saturday afternoon.
Lindenwood (1-18-1) will travel to Robert Morris (9-5-2) on Friday and Saturday. Lindenwood is 0-4-0 all-time against Robert Morris. The Lady Lions are led by sophomore Alison Wickenheiser with five goals and six assists for 11 points, and CHA Player of the Week junior Allysson Arcibal with 10 points on seven goals and three assists. Freshmen goalie Nicole Hensley is first in the CHA with 622 saves.
Robert Morris offense is led by sophomore Rebecca Vint with 10 goals and 11 assists for 21 points. She is followed by senior Kelsey Thomas with 18 points on eight goals and 10 assists. In net Kristen DiCiocco record is 8-5-2, with a .923 save percentage and 2.06 goals against average.
The Lakers (14-3-1) get back to action after a 34 day break by hosting Syracuse whom they have never lost to. They have a perfect 16-0-1 mark in the all-time series against the Orange. Mercyhurst is led by junior captain Christine Bestland with 40 points on 13 goals and 27 assists and freshman Emily Janiga with 24 points on 11 goals and 13 assists. Senior Stephanie Ciampa is 9-1, with 1.10 GAA and .944 save percentage. Syracuse’s record stands at 10-8-1. The Orange are led by sophomore Shiann Darkangelo who had a hat trick on Tuesday night over Colgate which brings her season total to 15 points on 11 goals and 4 assists and senior Holly Carrie-Mattimoe nine goals and six assists. Junior goalie Kallie Billadeau has a 1.30 goals against average has a .946 save percentage. She has an overall record of 7-4-0 with five shutouts.
Penn State 7-12-1 travels to Schenectady, N.Y. to play the 5-11-3 Dutchwomen of Union in a two game series. This is the first ever meeting between them. Leading the Nittany Lions on offense is freshman Shannon Yoxheimer (12-10-22) and junior Taylor Gross (4-13-17). Junior goalie Nicole Paniccia record stands at 6-9-1 and she has a 3.40 goals against average with a .918 save percentage.
RIT (9-9-3) welcomes Colgate (5-13-2) to Ritter Arena. The Tigers are led by senior Kim Schlattman with 13 points on nine goals and four assists. Reigning CHA Goaltender of the Week Sophomore goalie Ali Binnington has a 7-4-2 record, .922 save percentage and 2.08 goals against average. RIT is 13-2-2 all-time against Colgate.
